Welcome Summer, San Antonio Style!

Just heading to the pool for some relief from the record high temps last weekend. Thank goodness for fun pools with cool water!

Purple and Gold in the Black and Grey Town

I recognize that it is not exactly a good thing to broadcast in the city that loves it Spurs, but I can't resist a blog shout out to the 2009 NBA champions, the Los Angeles Lakers, who took the championship last night in game 5. We've tried to keep our heads high as all of our teams have had "almost" seasons for the past couple of years so it is nice to finally have a win. Maybe this means good things for the Chargers' season ahead...

Happy Campers

Rylie and Toby roughing it during an indoor living room camping adventure complete with a/c, a movie and a tent filled with every pillow, blanket, teddy bear and baby doll that Rylie could find. Rylie is a camper after my own heart.

The Smile that Lights Up My World

Reagan is learning and doing a lot of new things these days; the best of which is sharing this cute-beyond-cute, scrunched-nose, squinty-eyed, toothless smile with everyone around her. I don't think there is a bad mood that it could not break. Admittedly I am slightly biased but check it out and you tell me if you can watch this without smiling back!

Another Lees Lady

As many of you have heard, a few weeks ago we welcomed Miss Chelsea, a fawn English Mastiff, into our family. She is partially to blame for our brief (or not so brief) disappearance from the blogging community. While I seriously underestimated the work of having a puppy with two young kids, it has been a lot of fun and we have all fallen in love with her. Arnie has finally figured out how to play with her and is realizing that there might actually be perks in this deal for him. That is, something even better than the puppy food he steals from her bowl when we are not looking!

Rylie Hannah Thanks God

I just found this a note where I wrote down Rylie's bedtime prayer one evening.

Dear God,
Thank you for the cross, thank you for the cars to be safe, thank you for the grandmas and the uncles, thank you for the curtains, thank you for the fans that go twist twist twist.

Thank you Lord for Rylie Hannah who teaches me more than ever I knew I didn't know.

Hooray for Mommas!

Today I have found myself totally overwhelmed with appreciation for the role that God gives mothers.  I just wanted to share a couple of thoughts that have been roaming my mind....

1.  Toby and I are REALLY blessed; we have two genuinely awesome Moms.
2.  Rylie and Reagan are REALLY blessed; they have two great grandmas.
3.  I am REALLY blessed; I have two amazing daughters that give me the right to stand when the pastor asks all the moms to stand up and be celebrated.
4.  I am blessed beyond measure; I have a husband who supports me in this wild ride called motherhood.
5.  I am blessed with truly amazing friends to walk this journey with and share in the real challenges and joys of being a person who someone calls "mommy".

What an honor it is to be in a group among so many amazing women.

Happy Mother's Day ladies!
