Delaney vs. the Bee

While seeking reprieve from the 100+ degree temps in the pool the other day, Delaney went from splashing and laughing to screaming in an instant.  I thought sunscreen had gotten in her eye until Toby saw her and immediately asked what happened to her mouth.  I looked down and there was a little stinger still stuck in her precious little lip!  She was such a trooper and thankfully she didn't have an allergic reaction so it only seemed appropriate to take a picture of the swollen lip once she was feeling better! 

Natural Bridge Caverns

We finally had a weekend when Toby wasn't on call so we decided to take a little trip to the Natural Bridge Caverns in New Braunfels, TX.  It was a fun, spur-of-the-moment trip that ended with a late lunch at the famous SaltLick BBQ restaurant and a peaceful drive home.  We had a great time exploring and enjoyed the cooler cavern temperatures but found it to be just a *tad* bit humid.  

I'm really glad some people could see this and think, "Hmmm, I should climb in there and see what it leads to." I personally think that is nuts.  But, I'm glad someone did since we wouldn't know about this huge cavern if they hadn't!

So I didn't hadn't reset all of my settings after coming out of a darker area when I saw Delaney looking right at me but I love the way Delaney's eyes came out anyway... kinda cool, huh?

Magical Light

I just finished a super-fun online photography class on "Creating Magical Light" with Me Ra Koh and am so excited by the new ways it challenged me and what I was able to accomplish.  It has kept me busy taking, editing, and submitting images but since the class just wrapped up I figured I should give the blog a little attention:)  
You'll recognize Rylie, Reagan, and Delaney but the other super cute kids here are our friends, Griffin, Norah, and Mary Kate.  They belong to Brent and Maggie- our good friends from USUHS and neighbors here where we have been in Bible study together over the past 8 years (is that possible???) and Brent and Toby are both now Chief Residents for their respective departments.  Maggie posted the full slideshow here if you want to see more :)  

We Joined the Zoo

we thought it would be cute to add D into the shot... this is what we got...Poor Delaney didn't really like those lions as much as we thought she would!  

Ch-eeeeeeeeeeee-se

My quirky, adorable, sweet Reagan.  I promise you that purse has at least 27 essential items that she *needs* to have with her at all times... you know- chapstick, tissues, notes she has written, her pocket-size Bible, a change of clothes for kitty and who knows what else.  I just had to catch this moment before she headed outside to play :)

I asked Rylie to watch Delaney for a minute this morning and this is what I found when I came back...
