Life Documented

Sometimes something around the house catches my eye as iconic and I have to take a picture.  This small pile of shoes did just that the other day as I thought to myself, "one day I will miss this".  It's hard to imagine it, but one day pink and green flowered sandals might not be the footwear of choice.  Rylie and Reagan might not like having matching sneakers.  And, worst of all, we might live somewhere that requires more than a rubber sole and some straps.  Well, aside from the base I rank LAST on my list, I think we can pull off the flops just about anywhere.  Anyway, do you have any "shoe piles" that speak to you?

  1. I am so accustomed to showing emotion or telling a story from pictures of people. But I love how this picture, without a single person, tells a story and pulls out an emotion.

    Carefree. Cheerful. Summertime. Girly.

    Great picture.

P.S. I hope, too, that you are never subjected to live in a place where you might have to actually where a sneaker. The horror. :)

  2. Just so you know - you CAN wear flip flops anywhere... I mean, I personally chose no frostbite, but we always saw people wearing surprising things in ZERO degree weather, including flip flops! And when you're preggo with swollen feet in the middle of a Minot winter, you just wear the darn flip flops (what choice do you have)and get inside fast!! Love the picture!

  3. You take the best pictures. Do you walk around with your camera around your neck all day? How do you get such great shots. I always say I need to take a picture of that or I better go grab my camera but by the time I get it the moment is over or the battery is dead. Tips? Hints?
