There are a lot of details that bring us up to today but here is the latest... Rylie and I strategically lured Momma into a crate so I could take her to the Animal Defense League to be spayed. After all, what else would a Price is Right fan do?
Once we got there, Rylie proudly carried the cat crate into the vet office and showed "cat" all of the places she could sit in the waiting area. We filled out some paperwork and they took her back for surgery. But wait, just as they took her back, Rylie burst with tears crying out that "they were taking cat" and "her babies would be looking for her!" Thanks to some reassurance from the Animal Defense League's finest, Ms. Sharon, (and some cat toys that she gave us) Rylie's tears dried up and we were headed back home to complete phase two of mission "end cat reproduction". Capture the kittens.
With two ladies napping, I prepared some stealth moves and captured each of the little kitties with my bare hands! Ok, actually I just reached in the bushes and grabbed them, only screaming once because I swore I felt a spider on me. Ugghh... I hate spiders. Anyway, the three kittens are bathed now and cuddling together in the bathtub as I type. Now our job is to get these little ladies ready for adoption into loving homes.
Not ours, but maybe yours?? Think about it.
I am so happy to have been apart of the excitement via phone but I am sad I wasn't there to see you in action. I was telling Rolf this story last night and he said it was a good thing those kittens ended up in your bushes instead of mine. Miss you friend, can't wait to all of you, even the kittens soon!
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean our house has a permanent "Sucker" label for all stray animals??
